If you go down to the woods today...

Hi guys!

Spring is well underway and it has been gorgeous here in Belgium!

The other day, I finished work early and took Harry out for a longer walk (Belle had been running around in the garden so didn't need walking). I decided to take him to the woods next to where I live: best decision ever.

It was beautiful - everything was green, it was just the right temperature and there was no one there. I even spent five minutes just sitting on a swing made out of a log and some string just enjoying the singing birds and the blissful temperature. I only managed five minutes though because Harry had other ideas and seemed very confused as to why we had stopped walking!

It was really nice to just relax and appreciate everything around me. We live our lives at 100 miles an hour and never take the time to just look at every detail we have around us. This half an hour walk really made me a happier person for the rest of the day and boosted my mood for the week.

Anyway, moral of the story: take the time to look at what's around you and stop, think and listen.

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend and if you don't celebrate Easter, just a lovely weekend. I  ate lots of chocolate to celebrate!

Spring is here! (Sort of)

Hi guys!

Sorry I didn't wright anything last week.

In light of the weather lately I thought I'd wright about spring and what I like about it and what I don't.

Where I live, it's started to get sunnier and warmer over the last couple of weeks. This makes me very very happy. I love blue skies and being able to soak up some vitamin D from just sitting in the sunshine. It also makes walking the dogs nicer as you don't have to freeze and get numb hands while doing it.

The other thing I love about this time of year is the sound of birds singing in the morning. It's such a calming sound and I really like it.

Another great advantage is that the days are getting lighter and longer. I've found that over the past couple of years, I've been affected quite a bit by the levels of light. It lifts your mood when it's lighter and it makes it easier to get out of bed in the morning!

Belle wanting to go out

The last thing I both love and hate is that everything is starting to come into flower near where I live. I love it because it's beautiful and makes everything colourful but I hate it because I happen to suffer from hay fever. As I'm writing this I have and itchy nose, slightly puffy eyes and I feel a bit coldy. But you know what? I don't care, spring is making me very happy this year.

I hope you enjoyed this post and are having nice weather where you are!

A sunny spring weekend

Sorry this is a bit late, it was supposed to go up on sunday but I found myself working. Again. Anyway, I thought you might enjoy reading about what I like to get up to on a sunny day. Luckily, last weekend we had lovely spring weather here in Belgium and it made me very happy.

The first thing I like about it is being able to eat outside. There's just something very relaxing about having lunch, surrounded by greenery, birds, etc. and feeling the sun on your back. It's lovely. That is until the bugs come and buzz around your face but they're not quite here yet so we're making the most of it.

Near where I live

The other thing I like to do is have a wander in the garden. It's really nice just looking at all the new buds and redescovering it after the winter months. It also means I get to watch our pets just potter around, smelling all the new smells. Unfortunately, Harry has to stay tied up otherwise he escapes... Silly dog!

Lastly, I love having a nice long walk in the sun. We take Harry with us, because then he does get to do some exercise and have a bit of a sniff. It's very relaxing, not too tiring and a good way to get out of the house and make the most of the weather.

Harry's walk

I have only managed to get a picture of Tufa and Harry, I promise that I will get a picture of Belle, our other dog next time!
